A reference is required to book an appointment for a new arrival.

To get an appointment with our orthopedic surgeon, you need a referral from your family doctor, other doctors, or a physical therapist. Referrals are accepted electronically and in paper form. Secretaries will then contact the client regarding an appointment.

Please note that children, however, need a referral from a family doctor to receive a subsidy from the Icelandic Health Insurance.

To provide the best possible service, it is important that research and/or imaging have taken place at the healthcare facility before the appointment.

Generally, references are valid for one year from their issuance, unless otherwise specifically stated.
